Psalm 68 Verse 19 Explained

VERSE OF THE DAY SCRIPTURE

Psalm 68:19 (KJV) — “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.”

EXPLANATION

Psalm 68:19 is a powerful reminder of God’s constant care for us. Even a young child can easily relate to the message behind this verse because it speaks about something we all understand: being supported, provided for, and helped every single day ❤️.

The verse begins with, “Blessed be the Lord.” This is simply a way of saying, “Let’s praise God” or “Let’s appreciate Him.” The writer, King David, is encouraging us to recognise God’s goodness and respond with gratitude. It’s a reminder that no matter what we are going through, there is always a reason to thank God.

Then the verse says, “who daily loadeth us with benefits”. The phrase “loadeth us” is interesting. It means God doesn’t just give us a little help; He pours out blessings like someone filling your backpack until it’s overflowing 🎒✨. These “benefits” include things like:

  • The gift of life
  • Strength to face the day
  • Protection and guidance
  • Food, shelter, and the needs He provides
  • Love from family and friends
  • Hope for the future

Sometimes we may not notice these blessings because we are focused on problems or challenges. But this verse teaches that whether we feel it or not, God is actively involved in our daily lives. He doesn’t bless us once in a while—He does it **every single day** 💯🙌.

The verse continues, “even the God of our salvation.” This means the greatest blessing God has given us is **salvation**—the gift of being saved, forgiven, and offered eternal life through Him. Salvation is more valuable than money, success, or anything else the world can offer. God not only helps us with our daily needs, but He also takes care of our souls ❤️‍🔥.

Finally, the verse ends with the word “Selah.” This is a Hebrew word that means *pause and think about it*. It’s like when your teacher tells you to stop for a second and reflect before moving on. The verse invites us to stop and meditate on how good God has been to us.

In simple terms, Psalm 68:19 is saying: “Praise God, because every day He fills our lives with blessings—big and small—and He is the One who saves us.” 🌟
