Romans 8:18 (KJV)

"For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us."


✨ EXPLANATION

Romans 8:18 is one of the most encouraging verses in the Bible. In this verse, the Apostle Paul reminds believers that no matter how difficult life may be today, there is a future glory prepared by God that far outweighs every pain, hardship, and challenge we experience.

The phrase "For I reckon" means that Paul carefully considered and came to a firm conclusion. After experiencing persecution, imprisonment, rejection, and many trials for the sake of Christ, he confidently declared that the difficulties of this life are insignificant when compared to what God has prepared for His children.

The expression "the sufferings of this present time" refers to the troubles we face in this world. These may include financial struggles, sickness, disappointments, loss, persecution, loneliness, unanswered prayers, or seasons of waiting. As believers, we are not exempt from challenges. However, God promises that these difficulties are only temporary.

Paul then says that these sufferings are "not worthy to be compared" with the glory to come. Imagine placing a small pebble beside a huge mountain. The comparison would be impossible because the mountain is vastly greater. In the same way, the eternal blessings, joy, peace, and rewards that God has prepared for His people are so magnificent that today's struggles will seem very small in comparison.

The phrase "the glory which shall be revealed in us" points to the future that awaits every believer in Christ. One day, God's children will experience complete victory over sin, pain, suffering, and death. We will share in Christ's glory and enjoy eternal fellowship with God. 🌟

This verse teaches us several important lessons:

  • 🙏 Suffering is temporary. Difficult seasons do not last forever.
  • 💪 God has a greater purpose. Trials often strengthen our faith and character.

When life becomes overwhelming, Romans 8:18 encourages us to lift our eyes beyond our current circumstances and focus on God's eternal promises. Every tear, every challenge, and every battle is known by God. He sees your struggles, and He has prepared something far greater than you can imagine.
