EXPLANATION

This powerful verse is the very first sentence in the Bible, and it sets the foundation for everything that follows in Scripture. Genesis 1:1 introduces us to the most important truth of the Bible: God is the Creator of all things. 🌍

The verse begins with the phrase “In the beginning.” This tells us that there was a starting point for the universe. Time, space, matter, and life itself had a beginning. Before anything existed, God already existed. This means that God is eternal — He has no beginning and no end. He existed before the universe, before the earth, before humanity, and even before time itself.

Next, the verse says “God created.” The word created here means to bring something into existence from nothing. Humans can build things using materials that already exist, but God created everything out of nothing. This shows His unlimited power and authority. 💡
