Isaiah 7 Verse 14 Explained

VERSE OF THE DAY SCRIPTURE πŸ“–

Isaiah 7:14 (KJV): “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”

EXPLANATION ✨

Isaiah 7:14 is one of the most powerful and prophetic verses in the entire Bible—one that points directly to the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. This verse was spoken by the prophet Isaiah during a time of fear, political tension, and uncertainty for the people of Judah. King Ahaz was terrified because enemy nations were planning to attack Jerusalem. In the midst of this fear, God sent a message of reassurance through Isaiah.

God told Ahaz to ask for a sign that He would protect His people, but the king refused out of false humility. Still, God decided to give a sign—not just for Ahaz, but for the entire world. This is where Isaiah 7:14 comes in. The Lord Himself declared that **a virgin would miraculously conceive and give birth to a son**, and that His name would be called **Immanuel**, meaning “God with us.”

This was not an ordinary prophecy. It pointed to a supernatural event that would change history forever. Hundreds of years later, this prophecy was fulfilled when Mary—a virgin—conceived by the Holy Spirit and gave birth to Jesus (Matthew 1:22–23). The name *Immanuel* describes the identity of Jesus: He is God who came in human form to live among us, save us, love us, and redeem us. πŸ™

What makes this verse even more beautiful is the assurance it brings. At the time it was spoken, Judah needed hope. They needed to know that God had not abandoned them. Similarly, today, this verse reminds us that **God is still with us**—in our fears, struggles, uncertainties, and moments of weakness.

Jesus is the ultimate sign of God’s presence. He is not distant, unreachable, or silent. Instead, He stepped into our broken world to walk with us, guide us, heal us, and bring salvation. Whether you feel overwhelmed, confused, or unsure about what lies ahead, Isaiah 7:14 declares that you are not alone.

✨ **Immanuel — God is with you in every season.**
