John 6 Verse 35 Explained
VERSE OF THE DAY SCRIPTURE:
John 6:35 (KJV)
“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” 🍞💧
EXPLANATION:
In this verse, Jesus is teaching something powerful and deeply spiritual. When He says, “I am the bread of life,” He’s not talking about physical bread like the one we eat when we’re hungry. Instead, Jesus is using bread as a symbol of something greater — spiritual satisfaction and eternal life. 🕊️
Think about it this way: when we’re hungry, we need food to survive. Without food, our bodies grow weak and we eventually die. In the same way, our souls — the inner part of us that longs for purpose, peace, and love — need something to stay alive too. That “something” is Jesus Christ Himself.
Jesus was speaking to people who were following Him because He had just fed over 5,000 people with only five loaves and two fish (John 6:1–14). They wanted more food — physical bread — but Jesus wanted them to understand that what He offered was far more valuable. He was offering eternal nourishment — the kind that fills our hearts, not our stomachs. ❤️
When Jesus said, “He that cometh to me shall never hunger,” He meant that those who truly come to Him — who believe in Him, trust Him, and follow His teachings — will find lasting satisfaction. The things of this world — money, fame, pleasure, or even relationships — might make us happy for a while, but that happiness fades. Only Jesus gives a joy and peace that never runs out. 🌅
And when He says, “He that believeth on me shall never thirst,” He’s speaking of a deep spiritual thirst — that inner emptiness people feel when they’re searching for meaning in life. Jesus quenches that thirst by giving us a relationship with God. Through Him, we experience forgiveness, love, and hope that never ends. 🙏
So, this verse reminds us that Jesus is all we truly need. He satisfies every longing of the human heart. When we invite Him into our lives, He fills us with His presence, and we no longer chase temporary things to feel complete. 🕊️
SELF REFLECTION:

Jesus invites you today to come to Him — not just to believe He exists, but to truly trust and depend on Him. When you do, He promises that you will never hunger or thirst again spiritually. 💖
